Gaza death toll rises to 72,740 as Israeli assault continues

Medical sources in Gaza say the death toll from Israel’s war on the enclave has climbed to 72,740, with 172,192 people wounded since October 7, 2023, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
Officials added that since the ceasefire announced on October 11, at least 854 people have been killed and 2,453 injured, highlighting continued attacks despite the supposed truce.
Rescue teams have also recovered 770 bodies, underscoring the scale of destruction and the number of victims still being pulled from the rubble.
