Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit China on May 19 and 20, according to an announcement by the Kremlin.

The visit comes just days after US President Donald Trump’s visit to China.

According to a Kremlin statement, Putin is scheduled to discuss with Chinese President Xi Jinping ways to “strengthen the comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation” between the two countries.

The statement added that the two presidents “will exchange views on key international and regional issues” and will sign a joint declaration at the end of their talks.

It also said a meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang is included in the visit’s program to discuss economic and trade cooperation.

Beijing considers Moscow a key partner in shaping a multipolar world order.
