Trump: We're Close to a Deal... and We'll Withdraw on Two Conditions

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that a very good deal with Iran is close to being reached, noting that U.S. forces will withdraw from the region once the Strait of Hormuz is opened and the nuclear issue is resolved.
Speaking to Fox News, Trump said, “We are close to a very good deal with Iran, and if it is not fair to us, we will turn to the Department of War once again. I prefer the diplomatic option because signing an agreement means immediately reopening the Strait of Hormuz to shipping.”
Trump emphasized that the only and fundamental guarantee he insists on is preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, noting that “the Iranians have already agreed not to develop or acquire a nuclear weapon,” and that he is “getting what he wants from Tehran slowly and steadily, and if that does not happen, we will end the conflict in a completely different way.”
He noted that “Iran is in a very bad position; it has no army, and all it has is sweet talk and fake media,” adding, “We have targeted the Iranian leadership more than once, and the remaining leaders have become more rational.”
