Seoul: North Korea threatens to scrap armistice with its Southern counterpart

North Korea threatened Tuesday to scrap the 1953 cease-fire agreement that ended the Korean War due to sanctions afflicted on it and ongoing U.S- South Korean joint military drills.

In a statement released earlier today, North Korea's Korean People's Army Supreme Command warned of stronger additional countermeasures including the blockage of a communications line between it and the United States at the border village separating the two Koreas.
