Fadlallah: Authorities signed a surrender document

Hezbollah MP Hassan Fadlallah said the actions taken by the authorities amount to "sedition," stressing that "our finger will remain on the trigger, and nothing we do not approve of will pass."

Speaking at a memorial ceremony organized by Hezbollah in Ain el-Delbeh, in Beirut’s southern suburbs, Fadlallah said the resistance was compelled to take up arms "to defend its existence and liberate the land" due to the absence of a state capable of protecting its people. He argued that the current authorities have "placed foreign loyalties above the interests of the Lebanese people."

Fadlallah accused the authorities of signing what he described as a "surrender document" that undermines national sovereignty, claiming they had "sold the south and its people" and absolved Israel of responsibility for its actions. He also accused the government of violating the constitution and the National Pact, and, with U.S. backing, attempting to "upset Lebanon’s national balance" and "determine the fate of the south."

He further said that any commitment to disarm the resistance "will never be realized," describing the idea as "as impossible as Satan entering paradise." He also argued that the agreement, in his view, serves the interests of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu more than those of Lebanon.

Fadlallah made the remarks during a memorial ceremony honoring Ali Al-Rida Haidar Faqih, attended by religious figures, local dignitaries, the families of fallen fighters, and residents.
