Iran announced on Monday that diplomatic contacts with the United States, conducted through mediators, are continuing despite ongoing U.S. military strikes.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said during a press conference in Tehran that Iran had received messages and proposals through intermediaries.
"We have been contacted through mediators and have received messages. Without going into details, the important point is that our diplomatic apparatus has remained active in recent days, and a number of ideas have been conveyed to us through intermediaries," Baghaei said.
Meanwhile, U.S. forces carried out strikes against Iran for a ninth consecutive day on Monday, as the confirmed death toll among U.S. service members in the renewed conflict rose to three and concerns mounted over shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said it had launched a new wave of strikes aimed at degrading Iran's ability to target commercial shipping in the strategic waterway.
According to CENTCOM, the strikes targeted Iranian coastal surveillance facilities, air defense installations, military command centers, naval capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and communications networks.
On the Iranian side, the semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported that U.S. missiles struck several Iranian cities early Monday.
