Consultations continued to restore a quorum for the evening session, as lawmakers remained determined to pass the general amnesty law.

MP Georges Adwan said the session should not end without passing the amnesty law, even if lawmakers had to remain in Parliament until tomorrow.

“We shouldn’t leave here without getting the amnesty law passed, even if we have to stay until tomorrow,” Adwan said. “Don’t worry too much about the numbers. Some MPs are outside, and Speaker Berri has promised to ensure there are enough members present. Our bloc has said it will support whatever the Sunni MPs agree on and move forward with it.”

MP Bilal Abdullah backed him, saying: “We agree with that.”

Adwan then turned to MP Ali Hassan Khalil and asked: “Ali, where are the MPs?”

“We’ve called them and asked them to come in from home,” Khalil replied. “Just take it easy.”

Shortly afterward, Adwan left the chamber to call on MPs waiting outside to return and help restore the quorum.
