Iran's top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili on Saturday registered to run for president in the June 14 election, joining several conservative hopefuls aiming to succeed President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Jalili, 47, filed his papers at the interior ministry, an AFP correspondent witnessed.
Jalili heads Iran's nuclear team in negotiations with world powers seeking to curb Tehran's atomic activities, which the West fears are aimed at developing a military capacity --- a claim denied by Tehran.
