Annahar: Discrepancies to prevail the parliament's bureau meeting

5/13/2013 9:15:13 AM

Ahead of the parliamentary sessions set to kick off on Wednesday to agree on an electoral law, the Parliament's bureau committee is scheduled to convene on Monday to set a clear-cut agenda of the before mentioned legislative sessions.

Annahar daily said that the bureau's members are divided between those seeking to put on the agenda only electoral draft-laws, including Speaker Berri, and others backed by Al Mustaqbal bloc that wants the sessions to include other proposals and draft-laws as well.

The newspaper reported that an electoral draft-law approved by the government last year and a proposal made by the Lebanese Forces and Kataeb could be among the items on the agenda of the parliamentary sessions.

It also noted that it was not yet clear if the Orthodox proposal would top the agenda.

A Lebanese Forces official, whose identity was not mentioned, told Annahar that the LF was waiting for the answers of the different parties on the hybrid proposal, while parliamentary sources ruled out any agreement on a vote law.
