Jumblat: Protecting the LAF is paramount

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt called on all local factions to offer greater support for the Lebanese Army and its patriotic role in terms of safeguarding stability in light of “of the rising challenges emanating from internal divisions and the increasing influence of regional developments, especially those projected from Syria”.

“The direct targeting of the Lebanese Army with gunfire requires a strict, firm response that underscores the necessity of supporting the national military institution with all possible means”, Jumblat said in a statement.
The PSP leader deemed the protection of LAF as paramount as it transcends all other contentious issues.

Jumblat slammed attempts to drag Lebanon into the Syrian conflict, describing them as an “extremely dangerous adventure”.
