GCC Pledges Sanctions against Hezbollah Loyalists in Gulf Countries

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states pledged sanctions against Hezbollah loyalists living in the GCC countries.

“The GCC ministerial council will take measures against Hezbollah loyalists living in the GCC countries in regards to their residencies as well as their financial and business transactions,” a statement issued by the council said on Monday.

The Gulf countries severely condemned Hezbollah’s interference in Syria which shows the party’s “real nature and goals,” describing its conduct as “illegitimate.”

The statement called on the Lebanese government to “assume its responsibilities towards Hezbollah and its illegal and inhumane behavior in Syria and the region.”
