Turkish defense minister: Turkey opposed to coup against democracy in Egypt

Turkish Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz said Wednesday Turkey was opposed to military coup against democracy in Egypt.

Yilmaz said "there was no doubt that what happened in Egypt was a coup, and democracy shaped by demands of people was the only way for Egypt's salvation."

Some countries assess the incidents in Egypt in line with their benefits while Turkey takes up the situation in terms of its principles, he added.
