Maronite Patriarch calls for a speedy cabinet formation, rejects self-protection measures

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Al-Rahi called Sunday for a speedy government formation, a new electoral law, and complete support to the Lebanese Army while refusing self-protection measures and exchange of accusations between various sides in the country.

In the framework of his parish tour to a number of Keserwan towns and villages, al-Rahi renewed his deep condolences to families of the victims whose lives were claimed by the Beirut Suburb blast.

Al-Rahi also called for respecting the teachings of the Lord and following the path that leads to peace and light, "which shall guide all Lebanese towards goodness, kindness, justice and tranquility," he added.
