The British Embassy in Beirut issued a statement Wednesday tackling the visit of Ambassador Tom Fletcher to Syrian refugees on the occasion of the World Day for humanitarian action.
Fletcher inspected a project implemented by the Norwegian Refugee Council and funded by Britain. The project includes activities to be implemented in various Lebanese regions.
According to the statement, Fletcher noted that "we understand the huge burden faced by Syrian and Palestinian refugees, as well as by the host communities that have generously received them in different Lebanese regions."
"I felt the gratitude of those vulnerable refugees for the support provided by the host country, Lebanon," Fletcher said.
