Tripoli lawmakers confer over latest unrest

Tripoli's lawmakers held a meeting Sunday at the residence of MP Mohammad Kabbara following the unrest that has shaken the city over the weekend.
Caretaker State Minister, Ahmad Karami, represented caretaker PM during the meeting, which was also attended by deputies Samir Jissr and Bader Wannous.
In a statement issued following the meeting, the lawmakers called upon the residents of Tripoli to maintain their civilized conduct and allow the army and security forces to carry out their duties, as well as the country's judiciary to launch investigations into any event that threatens civil peace.
The lawmakers also hailed the residents of Jabal Mohsen, labeling them as an integral part of Tripoli and urging them to cooperate with securtiy agencies in order to reveal criminals who target innocent people.
