Aoun meets Maronite patriarch, stresses need for Christian unity

Free Patriotic Movement leader, MP Michel Aoun, met Wednesday with Maronite Patriarch Bechara al-Rahi in Bkirki to discuss the latest developments on both local and regional levels.

Following the meeting, Aoun stressed the need to exert utmost efforts in order to lay the foundation for an expanded understanding that will save Lebanon from negative positions.

"I represent a large number of Christians and I urge them today to unite in order to confront the country's crisis," he said.

The FPM leader highlighted the need for Christian unity, saying it will undoubtedly lead to Lebanese unity that wil bind people together regardless of their sects".

This unity, Aoun added, will lead to the country's salvation.
