After 40 years, Suleiman: to hand presidency in ordinary manner

Always in politics but this time, President Michel Suleiman, during Golden Jubilee of Zouq Mkayel municipality under his auspices, stressed on administrative decentralization in his speech and pointed out that this gives more competences for regions within one sole state.

“It was no longer acceptable for Lebanon, during this fate-determining phase in the region, to stand idle and seem like it was awaiting the fate of others”, according to Suleiman. “It’s no longer acceptable that international powers gather while the Lebanese themselves continue to repeat past mistakes by clinging to the wills of foreign policies and ignoring Baabda Declaration.

Suleiman claimed that he “works honestly and seriously to undergo elections on time and hand over presidency, exceptionally and for once, in ordinary manner since forty years i.e. since 1976 which is a major accomplishment”.
