Just as Sleiman Audi was driving 17 students to their school on Monday morning, a speeding Range Rover abruptly slammed into the yellow Toyota van, killing Abbas al-Masri and injuring the rest, who were transferred to the Riyaq Hospital to receive treatment.

The Range Rover driver, one of Baalbek’s mayors, fled moments after the crash took place.
