Qassem says Lebanon worthless, doesn't exist without the resistance

Lebanon is worthless without the resistance and, even more, doesn't exist without it, Hezbollah deputy Chief Sheikh Naim Qassem said on Saturday.

Noting that the policy statement mirrors the Cabinet's agenda, Qassem deemed the resistance as the 'cornerstone' of the ministerial manifesto and affirmed, therefore, that it will be mentioned in it.

"The most truthful and realistic policy statement is one that stresses on the resistance's presence," he said.

Qassem called on local rivals not to get drifted away by illusions and seek political gains by putting forth unrealistic proposals.

He also stressed that no party can either impose its own viewpoints or triumph over others, adding that the cabinet's policy statement should garner everyone's consent.

The Hezbollah top official expressed surprise at those overlooking Israeli aggression and continuous occupation of Shebaa farms as well as violations of the country's land and airspace.

"Hezbollah insists on confronting aggression and we will not live with it or tolerate these plans. We want to liberate all territories and gain our independence without any mandate," he affirmed.
