Story of releasing Maaloula nuns

3/10/2014 9:01:35 AM

Assafir daily has published Monday the whole story of releasing Maaloula Syrian nuns, highlighting the complicated and intermittent negotiations which took place between the date of the abduction in December 3, 2013 and Sunday evening.

The daily has mentioned that 3 channels negotiated with the emir of Nusra Front in Qalamoun "Abou Azzam al-Kuwaiti" at his residence in Yabroud, before reaching an agreement that led to the release of the nuns.

The newspaper unveiled that since the abduction took place, two paths of negotiations were launched, based on the principle that the nuns are guests and easy to release, they are not hostages. This was a political cover for their captivity, while figures from Syrian opposition such as Michel Kilo said that Maaloula nuns are guests at a friend in Yabroud, they are not kidnapped.
