US official to al-Hayat: US administration has no candidate for Lebanese presidential elections

US official in the White House said to al-Hayat daily that US administration has no candidate for Lebanese presidential elections; however it will take its stance from the upcoming president according to his acts and his commitments to the international resolutions.

Washington renewed its commitment in supporting the Lebanese Army, stressing its confidence in this military institution.

The source welcomed the security plans implemented across Lebanon, pointing out that an active cabinet can lead to dealing with shaky security situation.

The official also voiced the ongoing US support to Lebanese military and security aspects, hoping that Lebanese Army would be able to control Lebanese lands and to oversee the borders security.
