Bassil, Merkel consider German assistance to LAF

Foreign Minister Gibran Bassil met on Monday with German officials over recent developments on the local front.

Bassil mulled with the German Minister of State, Thomas Silberhorn, and the issue of the Syrian refugees in Lebanon as well as Germany's direct help to Lebanon.

Creating refugees camps just outside the borders featured high on the talks as the Lebanese FM and German Chancellor Angela Merkel considered the German support to the Lebanese army in its fight against terrorism as instrumental for peace locally and regionally.
