Bassil meets Maronite league

Minister of Foreign Affairs Gibran Bassil met on Friday with a delegation of the Maronite League headed by Samir Abillama who praised Minister Bassil's achievements.

"We discussed several topics including the status quo in Lebanon," he said, adding that the presidential election and the looming vacuum were featuirng high during the talks.

"We also discussed issues related to the Lebanese expatriates; a matter of great importance for Minister Bassil. The League will, in this context, collaborate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the success of the Expatriates Conference to be held shortly, in order to reinforce the relationship between the Lebanese living abroad and their mother country, in a bid to preserve close ties with their relatives here," Abillama said.
