Salam: Decision to block the cabinet 'political'

Prime Minister Tamam Salam voiced Friday his fear over political intentions to block the cabinet's work, adding that "for me, I hope that the cabinet would not be blocked, but at the same time, I am open to hold discussions over the mechanism with all components and political parties in Lebanon."

"However I am holding onto the powers given to me by the Constitution, it is my duty and my exclusive constitutional right to call on holding a cabinet session and I am the one who put the agenda," Salam said in an interview with Assafir daily.

Salam stated that the decision of obstructing the cabinet is 'political'. He also voiced his feared over Christian-Christian overbidding which might take place following the presidential void hoping that the security situation won't be affected by the block.
