Despite discrepancies that have been weighing on Hamas Movement's ties with Hizbullah over Syria's fighting, the Shiite party seems to be shoring up the Palestinian faction and partaking in Gaza's war in a way or another, an unofficial security source told MTV website.
"The dispute between the two parties is limited to politics which they both separate it from the security-related issues. Security in Hizbullah and Hamas are maintaining cooperation over several dossiers," the source noted.
The same source unveiled that Hamas militants were trained by Hizbullah commanders who show sympathy with Hamas' grassroots despite political divergences. The source also noted that Syria-made rockets being fired from Gaza Strip serve as a watertight proof that the Syrian regime hasn't cut the ties with Hamas leaders.
In a late-night telephone calls with Hamas chief Khaled Mashaal and Ramadan Abdullah Shalah, the leader of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah had vowed that his party will stand by the resistance in Gaza.
According to a statement issued by Hezbollah Monday, Nasrallah voiced support for Hamas' "rightful demands", warning Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the Palestinian resistance was stronger that he thinks.
The statement said Mashaal's remarks were reassuring that the Palestinian resistance "will remain steadfast and make a second victory in July."
