Maronite patriarch gets proposal over Vatican gathering rejected

Maronite Patriarch BeChara al-Rahi had suggested holding a gathering in which Lebanese top Christian leaders would be brought together in Vatican but his proposal was dismissed, Annahar newspaper reported.

According to the daily, the patriarch's proposal, aimed at putting local officials under moral pressure, prompting them to agree on a candidate, was rejected by politicians and candidates for several reasons.
