The Iranian - Saudi rapprochement has been eyed with upmost interest as it is expected to alter the political scene. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif's trumpeting readiness to visit his Saudi Counterpart Prince Saoud al-Faysal could have positive consequences on numerous regional crises, including the Lebanese gridlock, that were once incited by the Saudi - Iranian conflict.

Knowledgeable sources unveiled critical security data, that still await official confirmation, indicating that local apparatuses have noted a massive influx of Lebanese and Syrian displaced into Iraq and Syria to join the ranks of the Islamic State. According to same sources, a number of said individuals have returned to Lebanon after receiving the needed training to establish dormant cells, while others who wished to move to Iraq and Syria's Raqqa were ordered to remain in Lebanon.

Around 3,000 Islamic State militants are said to be roaming Lebanon, some employed in construction sites and quarries to ward off suspicions.

It is clear then that September will be bursting with security and political developments. Is it really darkest before down? Would an implosion precede the awaited détente?
