Anchor Loses Consciousness during Newscast

MTV’s Two-o-clock Beirut al-Yawm newscast witnessed an unusual incident.

News anchor Jessica Azar went unconscious during the Beirut al-Yawm’s (roughly translated as Beirut Today) newscast.

As Economy anchor Maurica Matta kicked off his section, Azar lost consciousness away from the camera lens. Aforementioned anchor did not show any signs of distress at first, but collapsed later on due to low blood pressure, knowing that she was suffering from a cold. She was given first aid treatments and was swiftly back on her feet.

The newscast was resumed in the absence of Azar while the audience remained oblivious to the incident. Consequently, the evening newscast at eight was also broadcast without Anchor Jessica Azar as per recommendations to rest.
