France and Tunisia announced that they will cooperate to keep their citizens from continuing to join jihadist groups in Iraq and Syria.

French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve announced after holding talks with his Tunisian counterpart Lofti Ben Jeddou, that their two countries have decided to focus on de-radicalization through preventing their departure.

Cazeneuve added that they will deepen cooperation between their security services and police on these matters.

The two also discussed joint counter-terror measures against nationals who have fought abroad and could return to their countries and pose a threat.
