Jumblatt backs Syrian rebels affiliated to Nusra Front

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt said Tuesday that Syrian people chose to overturn Syrian president Bashar Assad and they opt for getting rid of his tyranny then "how can I not support them?"

In an interview with al-Mustaqbal daily, Jumblatt noted that Syrians chose to join al-Nusra Front group and they did this on purpose, adding "how can all Syrians who joined the group be labeled as terrorists? Are all rebels terrorists?"

"It is now time to take an eager decision and to stop backing a regime about to collapse sooner or later and to support the revolution which was calling for freedom, dignity and change that are considered as legitimate slogans," Jumblatt concluded.
