Helou to al-Anbaa’: Aoun’s initiative a still-born

Presidential Candidate and Democratic Gathering MP Henry Helou noted that FPM Chief Michel Aoun’s initiative goes against the simplest democratic rights, adding that the latter wanted to lift the obstruction of the presidential vote off his shoulders by limiting the race.

Helou noted to al-Anbaa’ newspaper that Aoun’s initiative was a still-born, adding that its lack of value shows now that all parliamentary blocs have rejected it.

“The Democratic Gathering, headed by MP Walid Jumblat, will not drop my candidacy,” he said, noting that he has the biggest shot at garnering the Lebanese people’s trust.
