The National Liberal Party praised on Friday the efforts deployed by France so as to secure the election of a new president, slamming local parties that are hindering the vote as per their sponsors' edicts.
In a statement issued following its weekly meeting, the party blamed Hezbollah and the Free Patriotic Movement for the ongoing presidential vote, demanding them to let the democratic process take its course.
The party slammed Iran's "expansionist greed", calling on the Arabic League and the United Nations to condemn Tehran's meddling into other countries' local affairs.
The statement stressed the need for Lebanon to abide by the UN Security Council Resolution 1701 while disregarding the stances voiced by Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah as to setting new rules of engagement with Israel.
