Would Aoun Give up the Presidency for Chamel Roukoz?

A ministerial source reported consultations with Change and Reform bloc head MP Michel Aoun suggesting his withdrawal from the presidential race in exchange for Brig. Chamel Roukoz’s appointment as army chief.

“Several factions support this proposal so as to settle the presidential vacuum,” source noted, hinting that Aoun might actually consider it following the recent regional changes which are limiting his gain chances.
