Tarek Yatim: I don’t Regret Killing George

7/21/2015 1:56:53 PM

Yatim seemed quite calm inside the General Security’s questioning room over the past few days. An investigator told al-Safir newspaper published Tuesday that Tarek was normal and confident; he seemed unremorseful and as if he hadn’t just murdered a man.

The investigator also revealed that Yatim had no idea that George had succumbed to his wounds and didn’t seem to care once he was informed. He said he didn’t regret what he had done.

“I got mad because he followed me. He refused to give me way and cursed at me so I got even angrier. Who does he think he is a policeman? What gives him the right to follow me?” retorted Yatim.

The brutal culprit denied being on drugs at the time he killed George whilst Army Intelligence sources confirmed that they detained Yatim after a businessman identified as A. S. had ordered him to turn himself in.

According to an investigator present during the questioning, Yatim’s calm and composed attitude irritated all those present within the investigation quarters. “He was almost certain that his crime would go unpunished,” the source noted.

The investigator also noted that no politicians or powerful businessmen phoned in to influence Yatim’s release, noting that this was the first and only time that the police hadn’t been showered with calls.

This is quite normal as this murder was recorded and had stirred the emotions of the entire public opinion, which means that any attempt to influence the verdict would be futile and quite ill-advised.
