Mother and Stillborn Baby Found Tossed by al-Awali Riverside

One citizen had reportedly stumbled upon a woman tossed into a bush by al-Awali riverside, having given birth to a stillborn.

Red Cross medics rushed to the scene and transferred the woman to Sidon public hospital for treatment.

The 9-months-old child, although fully developped, was born dead and remained attached to the mother through the umbilical cord until the latter arrival to the hospital, as per reports.

Security forces opened an investigation into the accident and are trying to determine whether the now identified woman as Sawsan N. had tried to induce abortion.
