A young boy has tragically lost his life owing to one woman's jealousy. 

The alleged killer, a Chinese woman surnamed Li, was said to have lured the neighbour's five-year-old grandson, Wang Minghan, to her home before strangling him, reported People's Daily Online.

Ms Li has admitted to the murder and has apparently claimed that she murdered the boy because he was fit and clever while her own grandson was constantly ill.

She committed the crime in Henan, central China, and was finally apprehended. 

According to reports, Li went to visit her neighbour, the victim's grandmother, on July 8. 

The abductee's grandmother recounts that she was having a shower when her grandson went missing.

The boy was playing outside of the family home just moments earlier and had gone by the time she got out of the shower.

Upon seeing that his shoes were still on the floor, she immediately suspected that the boy might have been abducted.

Another neighbour said that they saw a middle aged woman loitering suspiciously earlier. They also saw a people carrier drive away very quickly. 

The boy's body was found on July 26 inside a large hole in the neighbourhood.

Although the crime was committed last month, details of the case only surfaced recently. 

Li, who has been apprehended and detained, has apparently admitted to her crimes, citing jealousy as the cause.

She had apparently revealed that her grandson was frail and often ill.

In contrast, Wang Minghan was healthy and clever. Her intense jealousy over this fact caused her to plan the boy's murder.

About a fortnight before the crime, she dug up the hole ready for disposing the body.

She then went to visit the boy's grandmother before luring him back to her home where she strangled the boy before burying him.
