Will Interior Minister Mashnouk be Held Accountable for ISF Violence?

Sources within the Interior Ministry told Assafir newspaper that Interior Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouk is waiting for the conclusion of all pending investigations into the violence used by ISF during the infamous “You Stink” protest, noting that measures will be taken as soon as the collected data is released.

As for the public demands for al-Mashnouk’s resignation, the source noted that the minister was abroad when the clashes erupted in Riad al-Solh Square, adding that he took immediate control over the situation upon his return.

Ministerial sources also told Assafir newspaper that the civic movement’s demands are unrealistic, noting that pushing ultimatums is unacceptable and the organizers behind “You Stink” Movement most confer with PM Tammam Salam instead of wasting their efforts with useless timelines.
