Man Wants to Create a Country Called "Zaqistan" in the Utah Desert

A New York man is building his own nation called Zaqistan on remote land in Utah.

Zaq Landsberg has created a yellow-and-red flag, official-looking passports and a border patrol gate guarded by a giant robot sentry for the realm.

Mr Landsberg built the land, which is 60 miles from the nearest town, in 2005 for just $610.

He then issued a declaration of succession which was signed by 25 people who have signed an "oath of citizenship" and has since even set up an embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

"I want it to become a real country," said Mr Landsberg, the President.
