Kanaan, Riachy visit Bkirki for talks with al-Rahi

Change and Reform bloc MP Ibrahim Kanaan addressed the rapprochement between the Lebanese Forces and the Free Patriotic Movement, noting that a lot can be done when mutual conviction is achieved.

Following talks with Maronite Patriarch Bechara al-Rahi and LF Press Officer Melhem Riachy, Kanaan stated that the Church plays a key role and is known to care for the nation’s interests.

“I hope that our experience with the Lebanese Forces turns into a national example,” Kanaan said.

On the other hand, Riachy noted that the talks focused on the declaration of intent, adding that today’s “victory” belongs to all the Lebanese people.
