ISIS executioner arrested over killing of soldier Abbas Medlej

The General Directorate of General Security on Monday announced that it has arrested Chadi Juneid on suspicion of belonging to the Islamic State group.

The suspect admitted during interrogations to beheading the martyred soldier Abbas Medlej, as well as killing ISF First Adjutant Zaher Ezzeddine.

He also confessed his involvement in armed attacks on the military outposts in Arsal in 02/08/2014, in addition to the abduction and murder of other servicemen.

Juneid is said to have targeted a Lebanese army patrol with an explosive device on 06/11/2015, and was recently tasked with the surveillance of Arsal military checkpoints for future attacks and kidnapping operations.
