Kobeissi says Army's achievements huge patriotic step

Development and Liberation Parliamentary bloc, MP Hani Kobeissi, described during an interview the Army's offensive against ISIS terrorists in the outskirts as "a remarkable and patriotic achievement par excellence."

"The Army has proven its leading role protecting the country," the lawmaker said. 

Kobeissi also commended Prime Minister Saad Hariri's visit to the Ministry of Defense, describing it as bigger than just an encouraging step. 

"It shows a decision taken by the government to confront [terrorism]. We highly appreciate the state's efforts securing cover for the Army to take this step. Had the state taken such decisions four years ago, we wouldn't have reached this point."
