Bassil: Committed to inter-Christian understanding

Leader of the Free Patriotic Movement, Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil, said on Friday that Lebanon could not be built without plurality and Islamic-Christian equity.

He added that the abolition of political confessionalism would safeguard this equity, reiterating his commitment to inter-Christian understanding and to fulfilling his aspiration for agreements with all parties in the country.

Speaking after the meeting of the FPM Political Committee, Bassil denounced the attempt by some parties to undermine national partnership. He then confirmed the attachment to the Constitution and the "Islamic-Christian duality".
