Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been travelling on Royal duties since their wedding - now the two are planning a leisurely vacation.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex plan to pop in on the Queen while she vacations at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, People magazine reported. Prince Harry, 33, and Meghan will stay for a few days of Queen Elizabeth II’s three-month long vacation.

During their trip the newlyweds will enjoy outdoor picnics, barbecues, hunting, deer stalking and walks through the heather. The castle will likely host parties and dances as well.

Lavish loch-side cookouts will be put together by footmen who, according to People, have to flee the scene to allow members of the Royal family to take over and take credit at any given time. 

Brian Hoey wrote in his book, ‘At Home with the Queen’, footmen set tables, arrange food, cutlery and china and then ‘move to a discreet distance where they can keep an eye on things and be within calling range if needed’.

The trip to Balmoral Castle will be the first Prince Harry and Meghan, 36, have made to the castle as a married couple.

This isn’t the only travel plans the couple are finalizing. Us Weekly reported they’re planning a trip to the United States for 2019.

A source said: ‘Meghan is looking forward to introducing Harry to everything she loves about the US.’

No official itinerary for the trip has been set, but Prince Harry and Meghan are reportedly visiting New York, Washington, DC, and California.

‘They’re working to finalize locations and venues,’ the source added.

‘Meghan and Harry want to solidify ties between the UK and the US. They want to highlight and foster these relationships.’

They’ll also reportedly visit a few tech companies while in California.

Us Weekly’s source said: ‘They will meet with CEOs and female tech entrepreneurs to encourage their involvement in the industry.’

Also on their list of things to do in the US? Pop in on good friend Barack Obama’s Obama Foundation, of course.

‘President and Mrs Obama have been stalwart supporters,’ the source said. ‘The Canadian Foreign Office has heard about the tour and would love to have them stop there. This may very well become a North American tour.’

Us Weekly reported that Meghan will fly over to the US ahead of Prince Harry for a solo vacation. She’ll spend time with family and friends in New York and Los Angeles, California.

The outlet’s sources claim this trip will be one of the last before Prince Harry and Meghan start trying to have children.

‘Expect to hear the pitter-patter of a little prince or princess in 2019,’ a source claiming to be close to the couple claimed.

The Queen and Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle hasn’t been a member of the Royal family for long, but she’s already getting close with the Queen.

They’ll have the opportunity to spend a little time together during Meghan and Prince Harry’s visit to Balmoral Castle. Perhaps they’ll have a belated celebration of Meghan’s 37th birthday, which also happens to be the late Queen Mother’s birthday, during the trip as well.

Meghan spent her 36th birthday in Africa with Prince Harry last year. This year the couple will celebrate her special day at the wedding of Prince Harry’s childhood friend Charlie Van Straubenzee.

He and Daisy Jenks will tie the knot in Churt, Surrey.

Where does Prince Harry live?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly live in Nottingham Cottage, a quaint two-bedroom home on the grounds of Kensington Palace. Prince Harry has lived in the house since 2012.

Prince William and Kate Middleton live not far away in Apartment 1A, a 20-room home on the same grounds. Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank live a few doors down from Prince Harry and Meghan.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge lived in Nottingham Cottage after their wedding, too. They were then upgraded to Apartment 1A. Prince Harry and Meghan are rumored to be moving to Apartment 1, a 21-room suite across from Prince William and Kate’s home.
