Arslan from Syria: Syrian state is our strategic roots

Lebanese Democratic Party leader, Minister for the Displaced Talal Arslan, highlighted that the Syrian state constituted the strategic roots for the Druze and the guarantee for this community.

Speaking while on visit to Syria, Arslan maintained that the sole project of the Druze community was the Syrian state, and not a sectarian one.

"The sole guarantee for the Druze is the state, the regime, and the Syrian Arab army under the command of President Bashar al-Assad," he stressed, warning of turning the Druze into "border guards for Israel."
