Macron praises government formation: We are committed to sovereignty of Lebanon

French President Emmanuel Macron congratulates the Lebanese on the formation of the new government, according to a statement by the Elysee.

"In recent months, France has stood by the Lebanese people and Lebanon's officials in order to provide the conditions for this formation within the spirit of partnership and friendship that brings together our two countries," said Macron.

The French President wished Lebanese officials success in their future endeavors at the service of the Lebanese people, and reaffirmed his commitment to the sovereignty, stability and security of Lebanon.

He also stressed "the importance of the dissociation policy and the fight against terrorism, underscoring France's desire to keep up with Lebanon on the path of economic and social reforms, especially through the implementation of the investment program of Cedre held in Paris in April 2018."
