Chidiac talks cooperation prospects with Lassen

Minister of State for Administrative Development Affairs, May Chidiac, on Friday met in her office at the ministry with the European Union Ambassador to Lebanon, Christina Lassen, and a delegation from the mission.
Both sides underlined "the joint cooperation between the Office of the Minister of State for Administrative Development Affairs and the European Union," as per a statement by Minister Chidiac's Media Bureau.
Minister Chidiac briefed Ambassador Lassen on the pivotal role of the Ministry of Administrative Development in implementing the structural reforms required at the CEDRE Conference.
The two sides also agreed to complete cooperation in various fields such as the development of public administrations and the empowerment of human cadres in state agencies technically and administratively.
The pair also discussed the importance of completing the work in streamlining the administrative procedures in public administrations to facilitate citizens' lives and reduce bribery as a basic condition to fight corruption.
Chidiac also briefed Lassen on the Ministry's plan to reach e-government in Lebanon, saying the Ministry will cooperate with the EU as a key partner in this matter.
The two sides also discussed the project of supporting local administrations to deal with the trash crisis.
Chidiac stressed the Ministry's efforts to reach the endorsement of the national strategy to combat corruption.
