Hassan says "No community is targeted" by Information branch

Maronite Patriarch, Bechara Boutros Rahi, met Tuesday with Interior Minister Raya Al-Hassan, with talks centering on the general situation in the country, in addition to the issue of the Information Branch.

After the meeting, the Minister said that "the purpose of this visit is to clarify why an appeal was made regarding the practices of the Information Branch towards certain detainees of a particular religious affiliation."

Hassan also handed Rahi some reports and evidences that the detainees were not subjected to any kind of torture and abuse.

"The security apparatuses must operate independently of politics for Lebanon's reputation," she concluded.
