Bobby Brown, the ex-husband of Whitney Houston, has reportedly been thrown off a flight for being too drunk.

Police boarded the flight to speak to Brown who was held at the entrance of the plane, sources say.

According to TMZ, the R&B singer was kicked off the JetBlue flight from LA to Boston, which caused the flight to be delayed for an hour.

Passengers told the site that Bobby - who is said to have admitted to drinking before boarding - was not disruptive and didn't kick up a fuss when denied alcohol.

Onlookers claim that JetBlue employees "jumped the gun" by calling the police.

A JetBlue spokesperson said the "My Prerogative" singer was "removed from the aircraft prior to departure after crewmembers observed indications of intoxication.

"The decision to remove a customer from a flight is not taken lightly," the statement added.

The representative added that Brown declined the offer of a later flight and instead was issued a refund.

Brown's only daughter with singer Houston, Bobbi Kristina, died in July 2015. Six months earlier, she'd been found unconscious at home in her bathtub.

Houston was found dead in a hotel room bathtub in Beverly Hills on 11 February, 2012.

Bobby Brown has been contacted for comment.
