Kataeb meets in session to discuss latest developments

Kataeb leader MP Samy Gemayel on Tuesday presided over the weekly meeting of the party's politburo to discuss most recent developments. 

In a statement issued in the wake of the meeting, Kataeb politburo called on the political authority to implement the indictments issued by the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL), warning of the consequences of disregarding these decisions. 

The Politburo deplored the current political authority's utter disregard of the recent indictment by the STL into the assassination crime of George Hawi and the assassination attempts on Marwan Hamadeh and Elias Murr. 

Turning to the regional situation, Kataeb Party called for dissociating Lebanon from the conflicts in the region, urging Hizbollah to halt its escalation and threat campaigns against Arab and Western countries in accordance with agendas that do not serve Lebanon, its security and its stability. 

On the current simmering economic situation, the Kataeb Party called for an immediate implementation of an internal reform process.
