Clashes as Egypt police disperse Muslim Brotherhood demonstrations
Egyptian police fired tear gas at stone throwing Islamist protesters in two cities on Friday, after authorities vowed to pursue a crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood and listed it as a terrorist group.
Black smoke rose over al-Azhar university student dormitory in Cairo as police fired tear gas at the building while protesters pelted them with rocks from inside the building, Agence France Presse correspondents said.
Police also clashed with protesters in the Suez Canal city of Ismailiya.
